why auto apraisal matters
Insurance estimates are often incomplete, rushed, or designed to minimize payouts – not restore your vehicle properly. This problem has increased with photo-based and virtual claims that skip in-person inspections and real evaluations.
In Washington you have the right to demand appraisal through your insurance policy. If you suspect you were offered less money, you have the right to request an independent appraisal to determine the true value of your loss.
We help consumers get made whole after a motor vehicle collision.
We can help if your insurance company:
Undervalued your total loss
Short-paid or denied repair costs
Forced non-OEM or salvaged parts
Steered you into their preferred shop
Ignored diminished value or loss-of-use claims
Left your car unsafe to drive after repairs
Our team helps uncover the facts that insurance companies try to hide We work for you
Know Your Rights When Dealing With Insurance
Washington law gives vehicle owners powerful protections. Most people simply aren’t told about them.
Your Right to Choose Your Repair Shop
Insurers cannot require you to use preferred shops or refuse reasonable repair estimates.
You have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired. Your repair insurance company must make a good faith effort to honor your repair shop’s estimate or repair invoice and is prohibited from mandating consumers use preferred or “direct repair” shops or refusing to reasonably consider the repair facility’s estimate or final invoice.
Your insurer must pay the reasonable and necessary cost to repair your vehicle to its pre-condition.
Statute Citations
WAC 284.30.390 – Prohibits arbitrarily denying a claimant’s repair estimate.
WAC 284.30.330 – Requires insurers to attempt prompt, fair, and equitable settlements.
RCW 48.30.015 – Insurers must promptly provide a reasonable explanation of the basis in the insurance policy in relation to the facts or applicable law for a denial of its payment of benefits, including repair facilities repair estimate or invoice.
Why Written Communication Matters
Written communication protects you when disputes arise and creates a clear record
Always communicate with the insurance company in writing and insist they respond in writing as well. Written communication creates a
Clear record of what was said and promised
Reduces misunderstandings or misstatements
Protects you if disputes arise later
Email is acceptable and recommended. If you are unavailable for phone calls, you may request email-only communication. If it is not in writing, it cannot be reliably proven.
Appraisal Is a Legal Right in Washington
When you and the insurer disagree, appraisal is a binding, enforceable process under RCW 48.18.620.
Each party selects a competent and disinterested appraiser within 10 days.
Appraisers independently evaluate the actual cash value and amount of loss.
If the appraisers disagree, they select a neutral umpire.
An agreement by two of the three (either both appraisers or one appraiser and the umpire) is binding.
The appraisal process must be completed within 30 days.

We help consumers get made whole after a wreck.
We can help if:
- Did your insurance company undervalue your vehicle after it was totaled?
- Did your car lose value after it was wrecked by another person (known as diminished value)?
- Did you get pressured by the insurance company to take your car to their "approved" shop for repairs but are unsure if the repairs were done correctly or have remaining problems that have not been addressed?
- Did your insurance company undervalue the cost to correctly repair your damaged vehicle or force the use of poor fitting knock-off and imitation parts?
- Insurance company not paying your bodily injury claim? Our forensic inspections will help discover damage and provide evidence of the mechanism of injury.

What Our Customers Say
John Ebersole, JrTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Quickly got me more than twice the offer from the insurance. Probably couldn't have gotten more unless I went to court. Brook GahmTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 11/10 star review right here. Jeff and his team are absolutely incredible. They fought with my insurance company tirelessly for weeks on end to eventually WIN MY CASE! Almost everytime I would read Jeff’s prompt reply to my insurance company, I would applaud and was amazing at his grit to push back, and his knowledge on every single law that my insurance was overlooking. I could not recommend this team more. Thank you so much for fighting for me. Bob SchmidtTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My insurance company was trying to make me pay over $7,700 as my portion of a repair when my deductible was only $1,000! Collision Consulting of Washington was able to get full coverage for me. They were very easy to work with. I highly recommend contacting them to mediate for you if you are having difficulty with your coverage. Chi WaltersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys are remarkable in every way. My rare BMW was totaled. At fault party didn't have enough insurance so my insurance stepped in, only to drag their feet and low ball me in between ignoring me for weeks. After weeks turned into months & no contact with the insurance company I hired CC and in a short matter of time was awarded what I knew I deserved which was about $10K more than they had ever planned to offer. Do NOT hesitate! Be patient and let Jeff and his team at CC handle the negotiations. Trai NguyenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently found myself in a frustrating situation with my car insurance company, who offered me a lowball amount for my vehicle's value after an accident. I knew my car was worth more, so I decided to get a second opinion and reached out to Jeff (Collision Consulting of WA). He listened carefully to my concern and well researched appraisal that accurately reflected my car's true value. The difference was astonishing—their appraisal came in $3,000 higher than what my insurance company offered! Thanks to Jeff team thorough work. I highly recommend their services to anyone facing a similar situation. Leoul TeshomeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Helps you understand your rights and requirements clearly doesn’t waste your time and is always looking to get the best deal for you Junyu TeohTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a positive experience with Jeff and his team. I was involved in an auto collision that I was deemed not at fault. Both my and the other party's insurance decided to lowball me on the repairs. I worked with Jeff to get an independent appraisal for repair costs, but my insurance decided to be shady and totaled my car instead. It sucks, but I'd probably still be stuck fighting the repair costs if it wasn't for Jeff. He and his team also took a look at my total loss valuation and laid out the options I could take. tl;dr: Insurance companies will screw you, there is no doubt about that. Don't let them do that to you., have CC of WA on your side. Lucca GiannechiniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a very positive experience when working with Jeff. He helped outline my options and possible outcomes after my car was deemed a total loss. It was incredibly helpful to have someone take the time to fully explain things to me during the claim process, especially with the insurance company obfuscating facts and my options. If you are dealing with the fallout from an accident, and are unsure about the process, or your rights, I highly recommend Collision Consulting of Washington.
